The play boasts an impressive cast starring Clive Owen – who is making his broadway debut in this production, Eve Best and Kelly Reilly, with music composed by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.

Director Douglas Hodge, who has worked closely with Pinter, said of him;

“I can’t find anyone like him anymore…I miss him hugely. He had a certainty about him. He was unchangeable about certain things. He was a true man of the theatre. He loved the theatre, he loved actors, he was willing to risk all sorts of things. He didn’t mind if he couldn’t be understood at first. He wanted it to be more poetic, to be more complex. Those sort of things I don’t see anywhere else.”

Previews runs until Oct 6th when the play officially opens at the American Airlines Theatre.

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke to compose music for OLD TIMES

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke is to score the music for Roundabout Theatre company’s production of OLD TIMES by Harold Pinter, starring Clive Owen, Eve Best and Kelly Reilly.

The play will be directed by Tony award winning actor, Douglas Hodge. Although no stranger to Pinter’s work – for ten years Douglas worked almost exclusively with Harold Pinter both as an actor and director – with this production of OLD TIMES Douglas makes his broadway debut as a director.

Of Thom’s work, Douglas said – “The music Thom has written for Old Times gives an immediacy and a ‘now-ness’ to the show. The play itself is about memory and love – Thom’s music works backwards and forwards and plays with time and repetition in the same way Pinter does. In true Thom Yorke style, the music is epic, heartbreaking, irresistible and complex. I’m hopeful this collaboration will result in a new kind of theatregoer coming to our show.”
