Kat joined ITV Studios in Manchester as a Drama Development Producer in 2012 and has generated a raft of returnable comedy and drama series script commissions with ITV, ITV2, C4 and CBBC. She is script executive on THE TRIALS OF JIMMY ROSE (3 x 60’), starring Ray Winstone and Amanda Redman, directed by Adrian Shergold, which will air on ITV this autumn. Series II is in the pipeline.
Kat started out in theatre, directing and producing shows for the Edinburgh Festival, London off-West End and working in the literary department at Salisbury Playhouse. She has always had a passion for brilliant storytelling and after a stint on documentary strand METROLAND (6 x 30’ ITV, RTS Regional Award for Best Documentary 2004), she forged a path in television drama, working as a development assistant, story researcher and script reader for Oxford Film and Television and Granada Drama.
As a development script editor at Ten Alps Drama, she secured six comedy and drama script commissions within 18 months with Head of Drama Jo Willett, working with household name writers and new talent, who have gone on to secure hugely-successful careers.
Kat also has experience working on long-running drama, having script-edited HOLBY CITY (19 x 60’) for 2 years and two series of WATERLOO ROAD for Shed/BBC (10 x 60’).
Kat is passionate about working with writers; fostering new talent, getting the best from a writer’s vision and developing popular, authored and distinctive quality television drama.
