Screenwriter and Director
Erin is an American screenwriter and director from New York, based in London. Slingshot, River Bend and Red River Pictures, are producing her directorial debut SELF-STORAGE, a bittersweet love story of jazz songs with Rebecca Hall attached. Jazz pianist Diana Krall is doing the music with Larry Klein producing the soundtrack. Angel Grace is the sales company.
Erin wrote and directed a short film, THE RING CYCLE, a comedy of pain that stars Natalie Dormer and Emun Elliott, produced by Yasmin Rais. It screened at The Stony Brook Film Festival, DC Shorts,This Is England in Rouen and the Cabriolet Film Festival in Beirut, Lebanon. The short is distributed by Network Ireland Television and has sold to STV in Sweden, Short Shorts in Japan (theatrical), Virgin Airlines, NBC Universal in Italy.
Erin also directed The Londonist for Saatchi + Saatchi’s digital Toyota Positive campaign in 2013.
She wrote THE FATHER OF MY CHILD, an edgy romantic comedy, as part of the prestigious Writers’ Training Scheme. Her romantic comedy 100 WEDDINGS is in development with Working Title/Wildgaze Films. She has had film and tv projects commissioned by Wall to Wall, BBC Films, the UK Film Council, Hart Sharp, Ecosse, Celador, Forward Films, and Finola Dwyer Productions.
Erin wrote and directed a short film, BAD BOSSES GO TO HELL (1997), which was produced by New York-based Killer Films and was sold to the Independent Film Channel/Bravo, Film Four in the UK, Cinefil Imagica in Japan, HBO Latin America, SBS in Australia, Canal Plus in France, British Airways and Air France. Distributed by Atomshockwave, the short was one of its best-selling shorts off-line and in the top ten on its web site.
Erin’s background is in documentaries, and she has been a producer and/or writer for programs on Adolf Hitler, The Black Panthers, Groucho Marx, the Watergate break-in, Brigitte Bardot, and George Wallace for ABC, the Arts and Entertainment Network and CBS. She also wrote and produced Cokie Roberts’ I is for Italy segment for ABC’s Emmy and Peabody award-winning Millennium broadcast. For many years, Erin was also a member of The V-Girls, a New York-based comic performance group. The V-Girls performed at universities, museums, and galleries across the U.S. and in Europe and were recently featured in Take It Or Leave It at The Hammer Museum in Los Angeles and in Ateliers Ouverts at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Paris. In addition, she wrote and directed four plays and several award-winning art videos.
