Poppy Stammers has worked on the last four series of C4’s COMING UP as a script editor, as well as taking on the role of Assistant Producer on the last series, working with emerging film and television writers including EV Crowe, John Donnelly, Ishy Din and Regina Moriarty. Involved from the very early stages of the annual scheme, Poppy managed the teams of readers and helped to select the successful writers and directors from the hundreds of applications received. This year she has been closely involved in the development and script editing of the three shortlisted 90 minute films for new format of COMING UP.
Poppy began her career in television working as a runner on shows like FAKING IT, before quickly moving into drama on C4 docudramas such as THE PETERLOO MASSACRE and THE STORY OF THE NOVEL. From there she went on to join Touchpaper as the drama assistant where she was able to progress to script roles on productions such as ITV1’s SOLD and BBC1’s JULIAN FELLOWES INVESTIGATES A MOST MYSTERIOUS MURDER. More recently she has script edited BBC3’s last terrestrial drama, TATAU, written and created by Richard Zajdlic, as well as developing drama series for BBC NI and other projects for Touchpaper, including a short film by Robert Jones for BBC Film.
