Shaun Duggan lead writer on CBBC’s brand new children’s drama, JAMIE JOHNSON

CBBC has announced a brand new children’s drama inspired by the book series JAMIE JOHNSON, and Shaun Duggan will be lead writer, writing at least 4 of the 10 episode series.

The books, written by Dan Freedman – a former Football Association editor, will coincide with the Euro 2016  championships. The series is produced by Short Form Films and follows eleven year old Jamie Johnson as he deals with the things an eleven year old boy has to face. And like most young boys of his age, he lives and breathes football!

Louis Dunn will star in the title role as well as a host of young talent including Patrick Ward, Olivia Lava and Jonnie Kimmins. The series will also feature  cameos from the likes of Gary Lineker, Ruud Gullit and Notts County FC’s Roy Carroll.

Cheryl Taylor, Controller for CBBC says:

“Jamie Johnson is a wonderful new drama coming to CBBC this summer – tying in perfectly with the Euros. Although the underlying theme is football, the series is not just for football fans. The storylines have a really wide appeal for all the family…”

..and has also announced the recommissioning of the second series, production of which to start this August.
