Kat joined ITV Studios as a Development Producer in 2012.  She has generated a raft of returnable series script commissions for the Manchester drama department across ITV, ITV2, C4 comedy and CBBC.  In 2014, she was script executive on THE TRIALS OF JIMMY ROSE (3 x 60’ ITV), written by Alan Whiting, directed by Adrian Shergold, starring Ray Winstone and Amanda Redman. She originated and developed three-part drama TINA AND BOBBY, about the star-struck marriage of Tina and Bobby Moore, written by Lauren Klee, which aired earlier this year on ITV starring Michelle Keegan.

Kat started out in theatre at Edinburgh University.  She directed and produced new writing at the Edinburgh Festival and in the London off-West End, then worked in the literary department at Salisbury Playhouse. After a stint on the documentary strand METROLAND for first time directors (6 x 30’ ITV, RTS Regional Award for Best Documentary), she forged a path in television drama, first as script reader for Oxford Film and Television, then as a development assistant and story researcher at Granada Drama working on shows including WILLIAM AND MARY, THE BRIEF, WHATEVER LOVE MEANS and HOUSEWIFE 49.

As a script editor at Ten Alps Drama, she secured several comedy and drama pilot script commissions for BBC, ITV, C4 and Five with Head of Drama, Jo Willett.  She worked with a range of household names and new talent including Andrew Davies, Paula Milne, Simon Burke, Matt Charman, Russell Lewis, Julie Geary, Jack and Harry Williams, Jonathan Harvey, David Baddiel, Peter Flannery, Francesca Joseph and Annie Griffin.

Kat also has experience in long-running drama; having script-edited popular BBC hits HOLBY CITY (19 episodes) and two series of WATERLOO ROAD (10 episodes).

Kat is passionate about working with writers; about getting the best from a writer’s vision, championing new talent and producing popular, authored and distinctive television drama.
